Our Heritage
The Story of Hoang Khao
Hoang Khao (hwahng-kow) means rice stalk in Lao.
Our family has lived by rice for generations. They were farmers who planted it by hand, harvested it by season, and built their whole lives around it. Rice was not just what they grew. It was how they survived, how they celebrated, how they showed love.
That spirit never left us. It just moved into the kitchen.
Today, the same family that brought you Pad Thai Garden is cooking the food we grew up eating at home. Lao and Thai dishes made from recipes that were never written down, passed from one generation to the next through memory and repetition and love.
We named this place after the rice stalk because it felt honest. We are still a rice family. We always will be.
